Soccer Tournaments in TennesseeSoccer tournaments in Tennessee attract competitive teams from all over the south. Beacause of the mild climate, many teams also visit from the Midwest where winters don’t allow for outdoor play until late spring.
Tennessee is the home of the impressive Mike Rose Soccer Complex, which is located in Memphis and is the home of many of the clubs in the area. The complex has 16 state-of-the-art lighted fields, as well a small stadium that has a seating capacity of 2,500, and hosts tournaments throughout the year. It is also where the University of Memphis men’s and women’s teams play their home games. If you’re looking for a senior game to attend, the Nashville Metros is the longest continuously owned and operated franchise in the USL. The team plays in the Southeast division of the PDL against teams from as far afield as Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas. For visiting soccer families, there is lots do in Tennessee besides attending soccer tournaments. Fans of the Blues or Elvis Presley, will enjoy Memphis. Visitors can enjoy world famous Memphis barbecue, while listening to the blues on Beale Street, or go for a tour of Elvis Presley’s mansion, Graceland, and see one of the most famous places in music history. Nashville is the Country Music Capital of the World and home of the USL Nashville Metro’s, while Dollyland Amusement Park is located up the road in Knoxville in the smoky mountains. One of the biggest attractions in the state, however, is the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga. It’s the largest freshwater aquarium in the world and hosts animals from all around the world.
