Major League Soccer also visits Charleston, South Carolina each spring for the annual Carolina Cup Challenge. The event is hosted by the local USL club, the Charleston Battery, that allows youth teams that visit South Carolina in the Spring a chance to see a Major League Soccer game.

The Battery themselves play their games between the months of April and October. They have a terrific little stadium and offer visiting soccer families an opportunity to enjoy a professional game.

Charleston, is rated one of the top five travel destinations in the United States and serves as a great host for out-of-town players, parents, and coaches. It is America?s most beautifully preserved architectural and historic treasure, with a rich, 300-year heritage.

Charleston is also a city of celebration, and there are plenty of festivals and special events throughout the year. Some of the best-known include the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition, the Annual Festival of Houses and Gardens, Spoleto Festival USA, the Fall Candlelight Tour of Homes and the MOJA Festival and Christmas in Charlestown.
