Soccer Tournaments in Georgia

Soccer tournaments in Georgia are very competitive and the state has produced some excellent home grown talent. It is the home state of, three US National team players, Clint Mathis, Ricardo Clark and Josh Wolf.

Mathis is from Conyers Georgia and played his youth soccer for the Rockdale Youth Soccer Association and AFC Lightning, a Georgia powerhouse where Clark also played his youth soccer. Josh Wolff grew up in Stone Mountain, GA and played his youth soccer for the Stone Mountain Soccer Club.

Savannah, Georgia

Because of its mild climate and abundant sunshine, Georgia’s outdoor season kicks off early. One of the first big events is the Atlanta Concorde Fire Challenge, in the last week of February. The Jekyll Island Soccer Complex is home of the Golden Isle Soccer Club and several events each year, and the suburbs that surround Atlanta host many more.

Georgia has a lot to offer the visiting soccer family besides it great tournaments, though. Atlanta is the biggest city in the Southeast and is well known for having great restaurants and entertainment. Savannah is a beautiful historic city where you can admire great ocean views along with excellent seafood and entertainment. If you want to explore a little, head to Clayton in the North Georgia mountains and do some hiking on some of the best trails in the Southern Appalachians.
