Why Don't They Cut The Grass?

No offense, but I do not understand why people go to all the trouble of hosting a large tournament and don't cut the grass.

At this year's (2011) Skagit River Cup, the grass is about 3" long. This kills the ball and makes for some ugly soccer.

You could scalp these fields at this time of year and it would grow back in a week.

I just don't get it...and give it a 2.5 out of 5 because, at the end of the day, it is all about the soccer. Nice people, nice location, nice community, decent officials, though.
