Nike Mt Hood Challenge

The Nike Mt Hood Challenge is one of the largest tournaments in the United States. In fact it's really two tournaments in one since it takes place over two consecutive weekends with U15-U19 competing first and the U9-U14 age group taking the field a week later.

Almost 500 teams in participated in the 2011 edition.

Each participating team is guaranteed a minimum of four games and every all team advances to the playoffs. Teams can choose from Premier, Gold, Silver and Bronze brackets.

Scores are posted to the internet within 45-minutes after each game and can be sent to your email or text account. Medals are awarded to first and second place teams as well as souvenir pins for every participant, coach and manager listed on the roster.

Professional photographs of the winning teams are also taken at the awards ceremony and provided free of charge to each team from the website within a month after the event.

In addition to great soccer, participating teams receive two family passes to the Nike Employee Store located in Beaverton, Oregon.

This is a "stay to play" tournament, which means that visiting teams are required to stay in hotels that are approved by the tournament organizers as a condition of participation. This may require merely booking rooms at one of the designated hotels, or it may require booking them specifically through the tournament's own designated housing service.
