Mayors Gold CupThe Mayor’s Gold Cup is an international tournament for veteran players in two age groups, 58 and over and 50 and over. There are eight teams in the 58 and over division and 12 in the 50 and over. Once these 20 team places have been filled, the divisions are closed. Teams travel from as far away as Chicago, Canada, California and Oregon. The aim of the organizers is to have two international or mainland teams in each four-team division for round robin group play. The remaining spots are filled by local Hawaiian clubs. All participating teams are guaranteed four games, three in group play on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with consolation games and the final on Sunday. The event also includes a number of social activities including a B-B-Q on the Saturday afternoon and a Tournament Banquet on Sunday evening.
