The Madrid Premier Cup is a competitive soccer tournament that offers younger teams an opportunity to compete at a high level, and older players the possibility of being seen by coaches from the three major universities in the area: University of California Santa Barbara, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and Westmont College.

These schools all have highly regarded men's and women's soccer programs with UCSB and Cal Poly Men's teams, both being nationally ranked NCAA Division 1 programs and Westmont being one of the finest NAIA schools in the nation.
