Kris Thetford Memorial Cup
Kristopher Ryan Thetford was born on September 27th of 1985 to Jon and Kim Thetford. Kris was a very kind hearted loving kid who loved playing soccer. Adored by many in the area, he enjoyed working with the kids and helping them learn the game until his premature passing at the age of 15 in 2000.
Around May of 1996 Jon was elected as a new Cleburne Soccer Association (CSA) board member. Because of his efforts and his sincere devotion to the kids of CSA, he was then voted in as president after one year serving the board. At that time, the CSA had 432 kids involved in soccer. During his time as president the financial stability of this non-profit organization flourished into what it is today, thus allowing the Cleburne Soccer Association the means to help needier families who can't quite cover the fees it cost for their kid(s) to play. After 10 years as President, the Cleburne Soccer Association is now 900 kids strong thanks to the efforts put forth by Jon and Kim Thetford. Jon and Kim contributed countless hours toward the success of the Cleburne Soccer Association to make it what it is today, the largest association in the Metroplex Soccer Alliance. Although Jon is no longer the President of CSA, he and Kim both continue to work hard to help allow the CSA to provide a great soccer experience for the kids of Johnson County, TX. This tournament is dedicated to the memory of their son, Kristopher Ryan Thetford.
