Joe Strauss Invitational

Joe Strauss was a 20-year-old soccer player and great all around person who was killed in an automobile accident on Mother’s Day in 1996. He was a passenger in a car driven by someone who was underage and intoxicated.

Since Joe was a passionate soccer player, the Joe Strauss Invitational Tournament and Joe Strauss Foundation were created in his memory to support his hometown soccer program and to combat underage drinking.

The Foundation was established on January 1, 2002 with the purpose of funding youth soccer, providing scholarships and funding preventative and awareness programs to combat underage drinking.
