Golden Goal Challenge

The Golden Goal Challenge is a totally unique soccer tournament experience, part of a series of tournaments that take place at the Golden Goal Tournament Park.

Located in the Adirondack mountain region of upstate New York, near Lake George, Golden Goal presents week-long events that offer teams a chance to live and dine in an Olympic style village atmosphere. During the week, they take part in training sessions, team-building activities and, of course, games.

Golden Goal provides six nights of lodging in dormitory-style buildings, similar to an Olympic village, with 24-hour security, plus three meals a day, a weekly guest appearance, a spectacular fireworks display and extravagant opening and closing ceremonies.

Teams pay a flat per player fee and Golden Goal handles lodging, food, and scheduling. There is no need for transportation since everything is located in one complex. All teams, coaches, guest referees and families participate in Olympic-style opening ceremonies at the start of the week's activities.

Teams are guaranteed eight games – six pool games and a semifinal and final regardless of finish – and the competition level, while high, isn't just for top-level teams. When there are no games or specific activities scheduled, parents can sign out their kids and explore the Adirondack mountain region around Lake George or Saratoga Springs

Places to Stay in the Area

This is a "stay to play" tournament, which means that visiting teams are required to stay in hotels that are approved by the tournament organizers as a condition of participation. This may require merely booking rooms at one of the designated hotels, or it may require booking them specifically through the tournament's own designated housing service.
