Albuquerque ScrimmageFest
The Albuquerque ScrimmageFest is a little different from the typical competitive tournaments. It offers participating teams a single day of soccer (girls on Saturday, boys on Sunday) in which they play four different opponents in a shortened match format with no scores or standings kept. This format takes away a lot of the pressure associated with most tournaments. Teams no longer "need to win" their three games in order to advance to an extra game and/or Championship. They all play four games anyway. Games are 35 minutes long for ages U9-U12 and U13-U14 play 40 minutes. There is no halftime but about half way through the match, teams switch ends on a dead ball situation. Unlimited substitutions can be made by either team at any throw in, dead ball or other stop in play, regardless of which team has possession.
