Sounders to Hold Beach Tournament

August Event Will Feature 32 Teams

The Seattle Sounders will host an August soccer tournament on Washington’s Alki Beach, the club announced on Tuesday.

The Sounders FC Soccer Beach Blast, presented by Super Supplements, will be held on August 23. Registration is $75 per team and you can register at www.soundersfc.com.

"We greatly appreciate the support the team has received from Sounders FC fans from day one," Sounders FC Vice President of Corporate Partnerships Ron Jenkins told the Seattle Times. "We're proud to partner with our friends at Super Supplements in presenting an event like the Soccer Beach Blast to thank our fans directly."

According to the Times, the tournament will be a 32-team, 3-on-3 tournament played on sand. Each team is allowed up to five players and players must be at least 18 years old.
