Soccer Tournaments in DelawareSoccer tournaments in Delaware attract some of the nation's highest-ranked teams from nearby youth soccer hotbeds in New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania. While America's First State doesn't boast a Major League Soccer team, it does have tax-free shopping. Plus, it is just a short drive from Philadelphia, the city that just landed the newest MLS expansion franchise. And Delaware is the home of the Central Delaware SA Future of the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL). Delaware also features the Kirkwood Soccer Club, which has been developing New Castle County and Delaware youth soccer players since 1974. The club has also developed the Kirkwood Soccer Complex, home of 13 outdoor fields and an indoor arena, in New Castle, located about eight miles south of Wilmington, the state’s largest city. If you get all soccer-ed out, you can take the family for a trip to the renowned beaches down in beautiful Sussex County in Southern Delaware, visit the capital of Dover where Delawareans were the first to ratify the U.S. Constitution in 1787, or shop tax-free at any one of Delaware’s many outlet stores, boutiques and antique shops.
