Soccer Tournaments in Delaware

While Delaware doesn’t boast a Major League Soccer team, America’s First State is just a short drive from Philadelphia, where the next MLS expansion team will start play in 2010.

Delaware is the home of the Delaware Dynasty of the USL Premier Development League and the Central Delaware SA Future of the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL).

Delaware also features the Kirkwood Soccer Club, which has been striving to develop New Castle County and Delaware youth through soccer since 1974.

In fact, you can catch a Dynasty game at the Kirkwood Soccer Complex, home of 13 outdoor fields and an indoor arena, in New Castle, located about eight miles south of Wilmington, the state’s largest city.

Or, if you’re all soccer-ed out, you can take the family for a trip to the renowned beaches down in beautiful Sussex County in Southern Delaware, visit the capital of Dover where Delawareans were the first to ratify the U.S. Constitution in 1787, or shop tax-free at any one of Delaware’s many outlet stores, boutiques and antique shops.
