Soccer Tournaments in ConnecticutSoccer Tournaments in Connecticut deal with the same weather-related issues as their northern neighbors. The summer months in the Nutmeg State see temperatures soar upwards as quickly as the winter season watches them drop. The outdoor season in Connecticut runs from early April through late October, with the majority of tournaments falling within that time frame. Once the sunshine is replaced by snow, a myriad of indoor options are available, particularly at the Oakwood Sports Centers, of Glastonbury and Hampden. Because of its geographical location, Connecticut is a popular destination for teams from as far south as the Carolinas and as far north as Canada. This influx of a large diversity of teams makes it an ideal east coast location for coaches who wish to see their teams tested against a wide array of different playing styles. Though no professional soccer teams are based in the state, the New England Revolution are nearby, several prominent college programs are right there, including Division 1 powerhouses, UConn, Central Connecticut State and Yale, and Rentschler Field in Hartford often hosts US Men's and Women's National team games. Tournaments on the doorstep of such esteemed schools are sure to be of interest to clubs looking to showcase their players to college coaches.
Traditionally a popular vacation destination in the summer months, the Nutmeg State offers something for all the family, with cities like Hartford, Fairfield and Mystic especially popular attractions. Click here for more information.
