Soccer Tournaments in CanadaSoccer tournaments in Canada are a terrific option for those teams in the northern United States who want to test themselves against international competition but do not wish to travel all the way to Europe or South America in order to do so.
As you might expect, indoor events are in the majority during winter time, but there are a number of summer tournaments rival their US counterparts. From the Robbie Cup in Toronto in June to the Granby International in Quebec in September, some of North America's largest and most prestigeous soccer tournaments take place north of the border. And Canadian soccer has come a long way in recent years with the expansion of MLS into Toronto and Vancouver, the success of the Canadian Women's national team in recent World Cups, and even the gradual emergence of the Men's National team, who made the semi-finals of the CONCACAF Gold Cup in 2007, only to lose unluckily, and somewhat controversially, to the United States. So there is an emerging rivalry with our neighbors to the north, which can only be enhanced as more youth teams cross the border to play against Canadian teams. Here, then, is our province-by-province listing of all the Canadian soccer events we can think of. As always, if there is a particular tournament that you are looking for, you can try using our search function below.
