Soccer Tournaments in the UKAttending any of the several soccer tournaments in the U.K. will literally take you back to the roots of the game, since this is the country that invented modern soccer, and then exported it all over the world.Home of some of the most famous clubs in the world, including Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool, plus the two Glasgow giants, Celtic and Rangers, the UK offers the soccer family a chance to witness first-hand what it's like to be in a country where their favorite sport is the undisputed number one interest in the nation. Talk about soccer culture! For the British, their passion sometimes borders on the obsessive. But even for the Brits, there is more to life than football, and there is plenty to do and see when you're not playing soccer. Britain is one of the premier travel destinations in Europe, and most good tour operators will fill in your days between matches with trips to London, Chester, Windsor, Edinburgh, and any number of medieval castles scattered throughout the country
If you can plan your trip in the spring or late August, the English Premiership season will be in full swing, and you'll be able to take in a match or two. In the summer, England is one of the earliest among the big European leagues to start its season, usually kicking of with the Community Shield charity match between the previous season's league champions and FA Cup winners at Wembley Stadium in the first week or two of August. That's a great spectacle, albeit a tame affair from a competitive standpoint compared with league play, which starts the following weekend. Otherwise, the high season for summer vacations coincides with the off-season for professional soccer. But whatever time of year you travel, a trip to take part in soccer tournaments in the UK truly can be a vacation of a liftetime. Here, then, is our listing of Soccer Tournaments in the UK.
