Kicks 4 Kids Tournament Gives Back

January 27, 2009

Pennsylvania’s Centre County United Way received a boost when it was presented with a $10,018 check at the Centre Soccer Association board meeting on Jan 8.

The donation was from Kicks 4 Kids, a charity soccer association that hosts the Penn State 8v8, which drew a tournament record 101 teams last June.

Penn State allowed the event to be held on its campus and Kicks 4 Kids estimates that the 3,700 people from seven states that attended the tournament had an economic impact of $927,000 in the state college area.

Kicks 4 Kids also hosts the Hershey Invitational, which raised $28,512 for the Hole in the Wall Gang Camps, an organization that serves kids with serious illnesses.

The fourth annual Penn State 8v8 will be held Aug. 8-9, 2009.
