D.C. United Announces Copa DC VI Details
DC United announced today event details for Copa DC VI, the yearly 6v6 tournament hosted by the club and presented by Mid-Atlantic Cooperation Trust, Duron Paints & Wall Coverings, and United Association of Mechanical Trades School. The opening rounds of the tournament will kickoff on October 28 and 29 at the Rockville SportsPlex, with the quarters, semis and final taking place on Saturday, November 4.
Teams are guaranteed three 40-minute games, 12 tournament t-shirts, 12 gift bags and 12 tickets to United’s opening day match for the 2007 season - all for the $375 entry fee. Teams are limited to a maximum of 12 players per team. ‘La Mara’ will be defending its fifth straight tournament championship.
The champion of ‘Copa D.C. VI’ will receive a check for $3,000, a trophy, gold medals for each player on the team and free entry into 2007’s ‘Copa D.C. VII.’ The runner-up will receive a check for $1,500 and silver medals, the third place team a $1000 check and bronze medals, while the fourth place team will receive a $500 check.
